90_HR0299 LRB9008762KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to congratulate David A. Hillock on his 4 retirement from the Chicago Transit Authority; and 5 WHEREAS, David Hillock was raised in the Greektown 6 neighborhood at Jackson and Morgan; and 7 WHEREAS, From 1984 to the present, David Hillock has 8 served with the Chicago Transit Authority, most recently as 9 the Vice President of Bus Operations; his responsibilities 10 included working with a 2,000 bus fleet, 5,000 employees, 11 maintenance, engineering and technical services within the 12 Chicago Transit Authority; and 13 WHEREAS, David Hillock has also worked for the City of 14 Chicago as the Commissioner of the Department of 15 Neighborhoods, and the Chicago Board of Education, where he 16 served as a Counselor and an Assistant Principal; and 17 WHEREAS, David Hillock graduated from St. Ignatius High 18 School in Chicago, Illinois; David received his Bachelor of 19 Science Degree in Political Science from Canisius College in 20 Buffalo, New York, received his Masters in Education, 21 Guidance and Counseling from Loyola University in Chicago, 22 and received an Education Administration Degree from Nova 23 University in Davie, Florida; and 24 WHEREAS, David Hillock has served as the Chairman of the 25 American Public Transit Association Bus Operations Committee 26 and the American Public Transit Association Subcommittee on 27 Advanced Technology in Transit; David has received the City 28 of Chicago Superior Public Service Award, the "El Rincon 29 Recognition Award" from the El Rincon Methadone Clinic, the 30 Illinois General Assembly Award for Outstanding Community 31 Service, and the West Town Community Service Recognition -2- LRB9008762KBkb 1 Award (for outstanding leaders in the American elementary and 2 secondary schools); and 3 WHEREAS, David Hillock is married to Irma Hillock; they 4 have three children, Matthew, Maggie, and Richard; therefore, 5 be it 6 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 7 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 8 salute David Hillock on his years of service to the City of 9 Chicago, and wish him the best in his future; and be it 10 further 11 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 12 presented to David Hillock with our warmest regards.
