1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The retirement celebration for Chester Kendzior,
3 Jr., will be held Sunday, February 8, 1998, when he retires
4 as Village Manager of Riverside, Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born on March 30, 1935 in Plymouth,
6 Michigan, and he received a Bachelor of Science Degree from
7 the University of Michigan and a Master of Public
8 Administration Degree from the University of Kansas; and
9 WHEREAS, He was a Specialist 4th Class with the United
10 States Army, having received an Honorable Discharge in 1960;
11 and
12 WHEREAS, He started his career as Administrative
13 Assistant in Glencoe in 1962; became City Manager of
14 Greenville, Pennsylvania, in 1964; City Manager of Oxford,
15 Ohio, in 1967; Town Manager of Chapel Hill, North Carolina,
16 in 1973; and became Village Manager of Riverside in 1976; and
17 WHEREAS, Mr. Kendzior is affiliated with the
18 International City Management Association, the Illinois City
19 Management Association, Frederick Law Olmstead Society, and
20 the Riverside Kiwanis Club; and
21 WHEREAS, He has been supported throughout his public and
22 private career by his wife, Joan, and his sons, Paul and
23 Craig; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
26 extend our heartiest congratulations to Chester Kendzior, Jr.
27 and wish him good luck in the future; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to Chester Kendzior, Jr.
