1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Herman Townsen, Sr. on December 30, 1997; and
4 WHEREAS, He was born in Chicago Heights to Ollie and
5 Molly Townsen On December 13, 1924; and
6 WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943,
7 and after an honorable discharge in 1945 he went to work at
8 Argonne National Laboratory; and
9 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
10 and friends, especially his wife, Dorothy; his daughters,
11 Mary, Patricia, Diane, Brenda, Cynthia, and Tammie; and his
12 sons, Herman and Cornelius; therefore, be it
13 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
15 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
16 be it further
17 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to Mrs. Dorothy Townsen.
