90_HR0314 LRB9009648KDks 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The recent rescinding of the reciprocal tax 3 agreement between Illinois and Indiana has created much 4 confusion among the taxpayers of this State; and 5 WHEREAS, Some taxpayers of this State will pay more taxes 6 due to the rescinding of this reciprocal agreement; and 7 WHEREAS, Reciprocal agreements are important to Illinois 8 taxpayers and to the Illinois Department of Revenue, which is 9 constantly striving to achieve simpler tax administration; 10 therefore, be it 11 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 12 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the 13 Illinois Department of Revenue conduct a study to determine 14 (i) the conditions that led to the reciprocal agreement with 15 Indiana being rescinded, (ii) the effects of rescinding the 16 agreement, and (iii) what can be done to reinstate a 17 reciprocal agreement with Indiana as soon as possible; and be 18 it further 19 RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Revenue report 20 its findings to the Governor and the General Assembly no 21 later than April 1, 1998; and be it further 22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 23 delivered to the Governor and the Director of Revenue.
