1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Joliet Regional Chamber of Commerce and
3 Industry has announced that the Empress Casino Joliet is the
4 recipient of the Chamber's 1998 Salute to Industry Award; and
5 WHEREAS, The award will be presented at a business
6 celebration dinner on Tuesday, February 10, 1998; and
7 WHEREAS, The Empress Casino Joliet and its employees have
8 made outstanding contributions to the Joliet area; and
9 WHEREAS, The Empress Casino Joliet is the twenty-second
10 recipient of the Salute to Industry Award; and
11 WHEREAS, The Empress Casino Joliet is now Will County's
12 sixth largest employer; Empress Casino is a large contributor
13 to the Joliet area, both in financial funding and employee
14 volunteerism; and
15 WHEREAS, What began as a risky business venture by a
16 group of area businessmen has turned into a major business
17 for the Joliet area; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
20 congratulate the Empress Casino on receiving the "Salute to
21 Industry Award" from the Joliet Regional Chamber of Commerce;
22 and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to the Empress Casino.
