1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the Newark, Illinois
4 Chapter of the FFA on the occasion of their 60th birthday;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, The FFA is a high school organization that
7 trains and teaches young people the value of agriculture in
8 our nation; throughout the United States local FFA chapters
9 sponsor and support many students as they learn about farming
10 and the farming industry; and
11 WHEREAS, The Newark Chapter of the Future Farmers of
12 America was chartered on March 22, 1938 and will be holding a
13 banquet on March 19, 1998 to celebrate their anniversary; and
14 WHEREAS, In their first year, the Newark Chapter had
15 twenty-eight members; today they continue the tradition
16 started with those original members; therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19 congratulate the Newark FFA Chapter on their anniversary; and
20 be it further
21 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22 presented to the Newark, Illinois FFA Chapter.
