90_HR0344 LRB9011738CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn 3 of the death of Fire Fighter Anthony E. Lockhart on February 4 11, 1998; and 5 WHEREAS, He was born on August 18, 1957; he was active in 6 the Boy Scouts of America while he was a student in the 7 Chicago Public Schools; he graduated with honors from Dunbar 8 High School where he was captain of the wresting team; and 9 WHEREAS, He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for l4 10 years and attended the University of Illinois before 11 realizing his lifelong dream of joining the Chicago Fire 12 Department on November 1, 1989; and 13 WHEREAS, He was assigned to Engine 81 on the southeast 14 side of Chicago following graduation from the Fire Academy on 15 February 1, 1990; he transferred to Engine 120 in the City's 16 Morgan Park area on February 16, 1993; and 17 WHEREAS, His last alarm was when he responded with Engine 18 120 to the fire at 106th and Western on February 11, 1998; 19 and 20 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family 21 and friends, especially his mother, Lois Johnson; his sister; 22 two brothers; his grandmother; and many aunts, uncles, nieces 23 and nephews; therefore, be it 24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 25 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 26 note with sorrow and regret the death of Fire Fighter Anthony 27 E. Lockhart and extend our sincere condolences to his family 28 and friends; and be it further 29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 30 presented to his mother, Lois Johnson.
