1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Mary Jo Stewart on her
4 retirement as Nutrition Educator in the Macon County
5 Extension Office; and
6 WHEREAS, Mary Jo Stewart began working with the Macon
7 County office in 1974, where she worked with the youth
8 program for fourteen years; for ten years she headed up the
9 Expanded Food and Nutrition Program; before working for Macon
10 County, Mary Jo worked for Perry County as a Home Economist
11 and taught in Alaska; and
12 WHEREAS, Mary Jo Stewart worked with the county 4-H
13 program, helping twenty Macon County 4-H members achieve the
14 goal of being named 4-H Congress winners, the highest 4-H
15 honor; as a 4-H worker, Mary Jo Stewart helped hundreds of
16 students by encouragement, mentoring, and motivation; and
17 WHEREAS, Mary Jo Stewart networked with thirty other
18 agencies while chairing the first ever Town Summit meeting,
19 where youth issues in Macon County were worked on; as
20 nutrition educator, Mary Jo Stewart has been the director of
21 a staff of over ten paraprofessionals who work to provide
22 nutrition education to the many citizens of Macon County;
23 WHEREAS, Mary Jo Stewart has been a benefit to Macon
24 County; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
27 congratulate Mary Jo Stewart on her retirement as Nutrition
28 Educator for the Macon County Extension Office; may she enjoy
29 the peace and quiet of her retirement; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to Mary Jo Stewart, along with our sincere regards.
