90_HR0374 LRB9011920KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to congratulate the African American 4 Hall of Fame Museum in Peoria on the celebration of their 5 tenth annual Red, Black, and Green Ball; and 6 WHEREAS, The Red, Black, and Green Ball will be held on 7 Saturday, March 28, 1998 at the Holiday Inn Brandywine in 8 Peoria; State Representative Ricca Slone will be the Speaker 9 for the Ball; and 10 WHEREAS, Honorees at the Ball include: Andre' Bohannon, 11 Alfred Gilkesson, Jim Draggist, Frank Campbell, Bobby Harris, 12 and Bonnie Noble; two youths will be honored, Raymond 13 Richardson and Shelecta Weldy; and 14 WHEREAS, Ms. Millie Hall is the President of the African 15 American Hall of Fame Museum, Mrs. Pearly Bonds is the 16 Co-Chairperson, and Mrs. Nancy Bell is the Secretary; and 17 WHEREAS, The event is held to recognize those individuals 18 in the community whose presence, achievements, and leadership 19 has made a "real difference" for African Americans and all 20 people; all proceeds are used to support the museum; and 21 WHEREAS, Together with Representative Slone, all of the 22 State Representatives join in sending congratulations to the 23 African American Hall of Fame Museum; may they continue to 24 support the furtherance of Black history, life, and culture; 25 therefore, be it 26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 27 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 28 send our sincere congratulations to the African American Hall 29 of Fame Museum and the Red, Black, and Green Ball; to the 30 museum and the honorees, we thank you for being a part of the 31 State of Illinois and the community of Peoria; and be it -2- LRB9011920KBkb 1 further 2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 3 presented to the African American Hall of Fame Museum.
