 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are deeply saddened to learn of the death of
 4    Ferdinand F. Sugent of Springfield, Illinois; and
 5        WHEREAS, Ferdinand "Ferd" Sugent was born in Springfield,
 6    Illinois on March 24, 1940; his parents  were  Ferdinand  and
 7    Frances Urbas Sugent; on November 28, 1970 he married Shirley
 8    Trost; and
 9        WHEREAS,   Ferd   Sugent   retired  as  the  Director  of
10    Inter-governmental Affairs for  the  Illinois  Department  of
11    Transportation;  Ferd had also been employed by  the Illinois
12    Department of Conservation in various  positions;  he  earned
13    many commendations and, while working with the Illinois House
14    of Representatives and the Illinois Senate, Ferd came to earn
15    the   respect  and  admiration  of  his  colleagues  in  both
16    chambers; and
17        WHEREAS, Ferd  Sugent  attended  Grace  Bible  Chapel  in
18    Rochester,  Illinois; he received an honorable discharge from
19    the Air National  Guard  and  the  United  States  Air  Force
20    Reserve  in  July of 1969; Ferd was an active fisherman and a
21    member of the Springfield Bass Club; and
22        WHEREAS, Ferd Sugent is survived by  his  wife,  Shirley;
23    his  son,  Scott;  his  granddaughter,  Amanda;  his  sister,
24    Rosemary  Sugent-Fox;  his brother, James; and aunts, uncles,
25    nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
26        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
27    NINETIETH  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
28    mourn, along with  his  family  and  friends,  the  death  of
29    Ferdinand "Ferd" Sugent; and be it further
30        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
31    presented to the family of Ferdinand "Ferd" Sugent.
