1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to
3 recognize significant milestones in the lives of the people
4 of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mrs. Corean
6 Davy Flennoy is celebrating the 100th anniversary of her
7 birth; and
8 WHEREAS, She was born in Jerico, Arkansas, on April 3,
9 1898, the daughter of Molly and Tom Jefferson Davy; she
10 attended grade school at Professor Brunson's Academy in
11 Jerico; and
12 WHEREAS, She was married to her husband, John Charles
13 Flennoy, on April 20, 1919; they were the parents of Alberta,
14 Margaret, Nazarene, John Jr., and George; and
15 WHEREAS, They moved to Chicago in 1951; John and Corean
16 Flennoy lived together as husband and wife for 37 years until
17 his death in 1958; and
18 WHEREAS, Corean Flennoy has lived through many changes in
19 her lifetime; she has lived through three major wars, the
20 great Depression, the famous march on Washington, and man's
21 walk on the moon; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 congratulate Mrs. Corean Davy Flennoy on her 100th birthday
25 and wish her all the best in the future; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Mrs. Corean Davy Flennoy.
