1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this Body that
3 Dr. Ronald J. Marino has announced his retirement from Ottawa
4 Elementary School District 141 after 24 years of exemplary
5 service; and
6 WHEREAS, He received his Bachelor's Degree in Education
7 from the University of Detroit, his Master's Degree in
8 Administration and Supervision from Michigan State
9 University, and his Doctorate in Elementary Education from
10 Michigan State University; and
11 WHEREAS, He has served in numerous educational leadership
12 roles, and has participated in several community
13 organizations, including the LaSalle County Task Force on
14 Child Abuse, the City of Ottawa Police and Fire Commission,
15 the Ottawa Rotary Club, the Ottawa United Fund Drive, the
16 Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, and the Ottawa YMCA; and
17 WHEREAS, He was the 1993 recipient of the Paul G. Orr
18 Award for distinguished educational leadership in the
19 Americas given by the Association of American School in
20 Central America, the Caribbean, Colombia, and Mexico; and
21 WHEREAS, He was supported throughout his public and
22 private life by his wife, Mary Beth; by his children, Michele
23 Olson, Wendy Schneider, and Lori Daniels; by his
24 stepchildren, Steve Mobley and Michelle Mobley; and by five
25 grandchildren; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
28 congratulate Dr. Ronald J. Marino as he retires from Ottawa
29 Elementary School District 141 and wish to extend to him
30 health and happiness in the future; and be it further
31 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
