1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Cara Kotynski
3 has been named a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship
4 Program, putting her among one half of one percent of
5 graduating high school seniors in the United States; and
6 WHEREAS, Cara Kotynski is a senior at Thornwood High
7 School and is one of only 7,000 high school students
8 nationwide to reach this distinction; and
9 WHEREAS, A worldwide traveler, Cara Kotynski is an award
10 winning member of Thornwood's cross-country team; she is also
11 involved in track, the newspaper, and the drama club; and
12 WHEREAS, She received Wheaton College's Presidential
13 Scholarship and last year she was summa cum laude on the
14 Connecticut State Latin Exam; and
15 WHEREAS, Cara Kotynski is worthy of the highest praise;
16 therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19 congratulate Cara Kotynski on being selected a finalist of
20 the National Merit Scholarship Program and extend to her our
21 sincere best wishes for the future; and be it further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to Cara Kotynski.
