1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House were saddened to learn
3 of the death of David William Holbrook of Chicago on April
4 12, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born on April 2, 1927 in Brownsville,
6 Pennsylvania, the son of Oliver and Leola Johns-Holbrook; and
7 WHEREAS, A veteran of the United States Army, David
8 Holbrook was a postal employee for 39 years, retiring on
9 August 31, 1985; he was devoted to the improvement of his
10 community; and
11 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
12 and friends, especially his wife, Roberta; his daughters,
13 Patricia Seay, Marie Diggs, Yvonne, and Jacqueline; Thomas
14 Johnson; three grandsons; and three great-grandchildren;
15 therefore, be it
16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
18 note with sorrow and regret the death of David William
19 Holbrook and wish to extend our sincere condolences to his
20 family and friends; and be it further
21 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22 presented to his widow, Roberta Holbrook.
