1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this House were saddened to learn
3 of the death of the Reverend Father Jerome Feldmann of
4 Beckemeyer on Thursday, January l, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born on September 29, 1924, one of nine
6 children of John and Rose Erlinger Feldmann; and
7 WHEREAS, He graduated from St. Mary's High School in
8 Carlyle in 1942 and attended Illinois State University ; he
9 began teaching at Ashley High School; and
10 WHEREAS, He joined the Brothers of the Holy Cross and
11 pursued graduate studies at Notre Dame University and taught
12 for five years at Trinity High School in Chicago; and
13 WHEREAS, He was ordained into the holy priesthood on May
14 27, 1958; and
15 WHEREAS, He served as associate pastor at St. Francis
16 Church in Aviston and joined the faculty of Mater Dei High
17 School in Breese, where he taught until retiring in 1990; he
18 served as associate pastor of St. Augustine's in Breese; in
19 1969, he became pastor of both St. Teresa's Church in
20 Marydale and St. Felicitas Church in Beaver Prairie, where he
21 served until August 1, 1997; and
22 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
23 and friends, especially his brothers, Ralph, Mark, and John;
24 his sisters, Dorothy Radosh and Patricia Kuczka; and his
25 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
28 note with sorrow and regret the death of Father Jerome
29 Feldmann and extend our sincere condolences to his family and
30 friends; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Reverend Jerome Feldmann.
