1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Nauvoo-Colusa High
4 School's basketball team on winning the State championship;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, This win was the first for Nauvoo-Colusa; the
7 team beat teams ranked number four, two, and one in the State
8 to win their championship game; the Vikings beat the Spring
9 Valley Red Devils after a heated match, with the Red Devils
10 leading by as many as eight points several times in the game;
11 and
12 WHEREAS, The team is made up of: Managers Rebecca Pope,
13 Sarah Hasek, and Larissa Gayton; Coaches Reno Pinkston and
14 Frank Gayton; players Kellen Fernetti, Brian Griffiths, Doug
15 Siegfried, Dave Hamma, Pat Weaver, David Griffiths, Marshall
16 Staff, Paul Goetz, Joe Wilson, Kenny Haas, and Emmett
17 Reidner; Principal Ron Yockey can be proud of this fine team;
18 therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21 congratulate the Vikings of Nauvoo-Colusa High School on
22 bringing home the championship; and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to the Vikings.
