 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS, The member of this House of Representatives  are
 3    happy  to  recognize  significant  milestones in the lives of
 4    citizens of this State; and
 5        WHEREAS, Jacqueline M. Witt is a senior at  Elmwood  Park
 6    High  School; she is the daughter of Henry and Josephine Witt
 7    of Elmwood Park, Illinois; and
 8        WHEREAS, She was recently informed  that  her  Scholastic
 9    Art  and  Writing  Competition  "Prom Dress" won the American
10    Visions Award and Gold Medal; it will  be  displayed  in  the
11    Corcoran  Art  Gallery  in  Washington,  D.C.,  from  June 20
12    through July 26; and
13        WHEREAS,  She  has  won  several  local  awards  in  this
14    competition held at Triton  College  the  past  three  years,
15    namely  Gold  Award  in  1996,  Silver  Award  in 1997, and a
16    Silver, Gold, and Best of Show in 1998; and
17        WHEREAS, She was named Student of  the  Quarter  in  Gym,
18    Swing Choir, and Art, and has been on the Honor Roll all four
19    years; she was Elmwood Park High School's Citizen of the Year
20    in 1997 awarded from West 40 Educational Service Center; and
21        WHEREAS,  She has been a member of the Honors Program for
22    four years, National Honor Society for three years, Executive
23    Board Historian her senior year, Drama Club for three  years,
24    President  her  senior  year,  Key  Club for three years, and
25    Treasurer for two years; and
26        WHEREAS, Jacqueline M.  Witt  is  indeed  worthy  of  our
27    highest praise; therefore, be it
28        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
29    NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that  we
30    congratulate Jacqueline M. Witt on winning the Scholastic Art

 1    &  Writing Awards of 1998 and that we extend our sincere best
 2    wishes to her; and be it further
 3        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 4    presented to Jacqueline M. Witt.
