1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Joshua James
3 Meeks will graduate from the University of Illinois on
4 Sunday, May 17, 1998 with a bachelor's degree in Honors
5 Biology; and
6 WHEREAS, The son of James and Judith Meeks, Joshua Meeks
7 is a 1995 graduate of Springfield High School; and
8 WHEREAS, He was recently names to the Senior 100 Honorary
9 at the University of Illinois, recognizing the top 100
10 graduating seniors who have high academic standing along with
11 significant contributions to campus life; and
12 WHEREAS, He has been awarded the Hemal Vekharia Award for
13 Excellence in Scientific Presentation and the Developmental
14 Biology Fellowship at Washington University; he has been
15 affiliated with Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma, and Alpha
16 Lambda Delta; and
17 WHEREAS, Joshua Meeks will attend Northwestern University
18 School of Medicine as one of eight participants in the
19 National Institutes of Health Medical Scientist Training
20 Program; therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
23 congratulate Joshua James Meeks as he graduates from the
24 University of Illinois and extend to him our sincere best
25 wishes for the future; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution shall
27 be presented to him as an expression of our esteem.
