1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Ian Murray of Troy,
4 Illinois upon his graduation from the United States Military
5 Academy at West Point; and
6 WHEREAS, Ian Murray is in the top 20% of his graduating
7 class; he will serve in the Armor Branch; he received his
8 jump wings at Airborne School, he made the Dean's List, he
9 was the winner of the Superintendent Award, he was Battalion
10 Training and Operations Officer, he was intramural MVP for
11 his company, and he was in the top 85% nationwide in the LSAT
12 Test for law school; and
13 WHEREAS, Ian Murray was a one-time winner and a two-time
14 finalist in the open boxing brigade championship; and
15 WHEREAS, Ian Murray began at West Point in June of 1994
16 and will graduate on May 30, 1998; upon graduation as a
17 Second Lieutenant he will attend training at Fort Knox,
18 Kentucky followed by duty at Fort Riley, Kansas; and
19 WHEREAS, Ian Murray is the son of George and Kathleen
20 Murray; therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 congratulate Ian Murray upon his graduation from West Point;
24 he has worked hard to come to this day and should be proud of
25 his efforts; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Ian Murray.
