1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Helping Hands of
4 Channahon on receiving a placement in the Governor's Home
5 Town Awards Project; and
6 WHEREAS, The Helping Hands of Channahon program gives
7 food baskets to families at Thanksgiving, with sixty-four
8 families being served before Thanksgiving of 1997; Helping
9 Hands has aided flood victims and a father with two children
10 that were burned out of their home; Helping Hands provides
11 assistance to many of the local senior population, as well as
12 to anyone in need; and
13 WHEREAS, This program deserves the honor given to it by
14 being placed on the Governor's Home Town Project List; and
15 WHEREAS, Helping Hands of Channahon will be honored at
16 the Governor's banquet on June 17, 1998; therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19 thank The Helping Hands of Channahon and its many volunteers
20 for a job well done; when they take time to help others then
21 they deserve recognition and congratulations; and be it
22 further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to The Helping Hands of Channahon.
