1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize citizens of the
4 State of Illinois that have reached milestones in their lives
5 and careers; and
6 WHEREAS, Fifty years is one such milestone; for the past
7 fifty years, Ellsworth Brown of Beason, Illinois has served
8 major league baseball; he has been a scout for the Washington
9 Senators and the present day Minnesota Twins organizations;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, On July 20, 1998, "Ellsworth Brown" Day will be
12 celebrated at the Illinois State Redbird Baseball Field in
13 Normal, Illinois; and
14 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown will be honored by the Twin City Stars
15 of the Central Illinois Collegiate League for his many years
16 of involvement with the sport of baseball; therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19 congratulate Ellsworth Brown on a job well done; at this time
20 of celebration and reflection we salute Mr. Brown on finding
21 a career that he loves and enjoys; may he continue to find
22 those talented youngsters that may someday grace baseball
23 stadiums across the nation as baseball stars; and be it
24 further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Ellsworth Brown, along with our sincere
27 congratulations.
