 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are  saddened  to  learn  of  the  death  of
 4    Reverend  August  Friedrich  Blobaum of St. Joseph, Illinois;
 5    and
 6        WHEREAS, August Blobaum was born in Cowles, Nebraska,  on
 7    February  9,  1904;  his  parents  were  Charles and Carolina
 8    Busche Blobaum; on January 25, 1929 he married Marie Duden in
 9    Flatville; and
10        WHEREAS, Reverend Blobaum attended school at District  37
11    Stillwater Township in Rosemont, Nebraska; he attended Hebron
12    Academy  in  Hebron,  Nebraska;  he  graduated  from Wartburg
13    Academy in Clinton, Iowa, in 1922, from Wartburg  College  in
14    1925, and from Wartburg Theological Seminary in 1928; and
15        WHEREAS, Reverend Blobaum served as a pastor for Lutheran
16    churches  in  Philo,  Coatsburg,  Forreston,  Metropolis, and
17    Oregon;  he  also  served  in  Loogootee,  Indiana,   Rhodes,
18    Michigan,  and  Humboldt,  Nebraska;  he served as Visitation
19    Pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran  Church  in  Thomasboro  from
20    1972  to  1974, and taught parochial school at Stanton Center
21    during the summers of 1926 and 1927; and
22        WHEREAS, Reverend Blobaum is survived by his wife, Marie;
23    his four sons,  Reverend  Melvin  Blobaum,  Everett  Blobaum,
24    Reverend Emil Blobaum, and Harold Blobaum; his two daughters,
25    Carolyn Schroeder and Linda Pein; his brother, Edwin Blobaum;
26    his  sister,  Frieda Blobaum; his seventeen grandchildren and
27    thirteen great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
28        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
29    NINETIETH  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
30    mourn, along with family and friends, the death  of  Reverend
31    August  Blobaum;  may they find peace and solace in this time

 1    of need; and be it further
 2        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 3    presented to his family with our sincere condolences.
