90_HR0619 LRB9013017CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the 3 Boy Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of 4 Eagle Scout; and 5 WHEREAS, Patrick Loftus of Boy Scout Troop 271, in 6 Lansing, Illinois, will receive the Eagle Scout Award at a 7 Court of Honor to be held on October 4, 1998, at the Lansing 8 Country Club; and 9 WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young 10 man must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a 11 willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in 12 camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and 13 WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Patrick Loftus joins 14 an elite and honorable fraternity of achievers that counts 15 among its members an extraordinary number of this nation's 16 great leaders in business, government, education, and other 17 sectors of society; and 18 WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout 19 reflects favorably upon the recipient, his justly proud 20 family, his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be 21 it 22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 24 join his family and friends in congratulating Patrick Loftus 25 upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and commend 26 him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that is the 27 hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further 28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 29 presented to Eagle Scout Patrick Loftus as an expression of 30 our respect and esteem.
