1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Louis Meier of Urbana will celebrate the sixtieth anniversary
8 of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Louis Meier and the former Waneta Edwards were
10 united in holy matrimony on September 16, 1938, at Covington,
11 Indiana; and
12 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
13 highest plateaus when a couple such as Louis and Waneta
14 celebrate their wedding anniversary; and
15 WHEREAS, Louis and Waneta stand as examples of the best
16 of our society, and their love and devotion to each other and
17 to their friends serve as a reminder to all that hard work,
18 dedication, and love can make a difference in today's world;
19 therefore be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
22 congratulate Louis and Waneta Meier on the occasion of their
23 sixtieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
24 achieving a long and happy marriage; and that we wish them
25 happiness and good health in the future; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
