90_HR0642 LRB9013102KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to extend their sympathy to the family 4 of Billie Lee Tipsword of Sorento, Illinois, who passed away 5 on September 18, 1998; and 6 WHEREAS, Mr. Tipsword was born in Sorento on January 31, 7 1930; his parents were Kenneth and Roberta (Tipsword) Olive; 8 on October 27, 1956 he married Jewel Steele in Greenville, 9 Illinois; and 10 WHEREAS, Mr. Tipsword served his country in the United 11 States Army and is memorialized, with his fellow veterans 12 from the area, at the Bond County Veteran's Memorial in 13 Greenville; and 14 WHEREAS, Mr. Tipsword was a member of the Sorento Masonic 15 Lodge #861, the Sorento American Legion #713, the Ainad 16 Shriner Temple of East St. Louis, the Bond County Housing 17 Authority, and the Bond County Shrine Club; he served as the 18 Shoal Creek Township Supervisor, and was the Sorento 19 Homecoming Association Parade Chairman for sixteen years; he 20 was also a member of the Scottish Rites Bodies of Belleville 21 and the Panama V.F.W.; and 22 WHEREAS, Billie Lee Tipsword is survived by his wife, 23 Jewel; his daughter, Mrs. James (Sharon) Eck Jr.; and his 24 grandchildren, Aaron and Sarah; therefore, be it 25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 26 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 27 mourn, along with his family, friends, and the community of 28 Sorento, the passing of Billie Lee Tipsword; may all his 29 acquaintances find peace in this time of need; and be it 30 further 31 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be -2- LRB9013102KBkb 1 presented to the family of Billie Lee Tipsword.
