1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives congratulate Mayor Anthony Vacco on his
4 thirtieth anniversary as Mayor of Evergreen Park, Illinois;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, In October of 1968 Anthony Vacco was appointed
7 to fill a vacancy in the Village of Evergreen Park; in April
8 of 1969 he was elected to his first four year term as Mayor;
9 Mayor Vacco has served the Village of Evergreen Park as Mayor
10 since that time, winning against all comers; and
11 WHEREAS, Anthony Vacco is a Mayor that serves the
12 community that elected him; he is a member of American Legion
13 Post #854, the Chamber of Commerce of Evergreen Park, the
14 Elks Lodge, the Jaycees of Evergreen Park, the Kiwanis Club,
15 the Rotary Club of Evergreen Park, the Sertoma Club of
16 Evergreen Park, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Order
17 Sons of Italy; and
18 WHEREAS, Mayor Anthony Vacco previously served with the
19 Cook County Sheriff's Office, and worked for the Chicago
20 Sun-Times; Anthony Vacco is a Veteran of the United States
21 Army, serving 32 months in the Medical Corp; and is a current
22 and past president of the Illinois Municipal League; and
23 WHEREAS, Mayor Anthony Vacco has received many awards and
24 accolades for his service to the community of Evergreen Park,
25 including city, county, State of Illinois and national
26 awards; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
29 congratulate Anthony Vacco on his thirtieth anniversary as
30 Mayor of Evergreen Park; we wish him continued good health
31 and success as Mayor; may his community continue to be

1 blessed by his quality leadership; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to Mayor Anthony Vacco, along with our sincere
4 regards.
