1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Walt Sievers of Staunton have celebrated the fiftieth
8 anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Walt Sievers and the former Ruth Steinmann were
10 united in holy matrimony on September 19, 1948, at St. Paul
11 Lutheran Church in Hamel, Illinois; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of sons Gary, and
13 his wife Cheryll, and Jim; and their daughter, Judy Loemker,
14 who is married to Keith Loemker; they are the proud
15 grandparents of Brian, Julie, Greg, Mark, Christopher,
16 Jennifer, Jeremy, Tim, and Kati; and
17 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
18 highest plateaus when a couple such as Walt and Ruth
19 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
20 WHEREAS, Walt and Ruth Sievers stand as examples of the
21 best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
22 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
23 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
24 difference in today's world; therefore be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
27 congratulate Walt and Ruth Sievers on the occasion of their
28 fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
29 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
30 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
31 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it

3 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
