1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are happy to recognize
3 organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the
4 well-being of the citizens of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that the Vernon
6 Hills Park District celebrates 25 years of service in 1998;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, A petition to form a park district was
9 circulated by Vernon Hills residents and presented to the
10 Court; on November 27, 1973 a referendum was passed creating
11 the Vernon Hills Park District; and
12 WHEREAS, Through the past 25 years, Vernon Hills
13 residents have choices of classes, events, and programs
14 geared towards participants of all ages; and
15 WHEREAS, Vernon Hills Park District faces the new
16 millennium with the hope of enhancing life and the
17 environment to acquire, conserve and protect natural
18 resources; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21 congratulate the Vernon Hills Park District on its 25th
22 anniversary and proclaim November 27, 1998 as Vernon Hills
23 Park District Day in Illinois; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the Vernon Hills Park District as an expression
26 of our esteem.
