1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere sympathy to the
4 family and friends of Arline Hooks, who recently passed away;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, Arline Hooks was born in Kansas City, Missouri;
7 she was the daughter of Eugene and Odessa Wilson; Arline
8 received her education in Kansas City and then moved to
9 Chicago; and
10 WHEREAS, Arline Hooks was retired from the Chicago
11 Housing Authority, where she served for many years; and
12 WHEREAS, Arline Hooks was a loyal member of the Park
13 Manor Congregational Church; at Park Manor she wed her
14 husband, William "Billy" Hooks; and
15 WHEREAS, Arline Hooks is remembered as "God's Special
16 Flower" by those who knew her; she is survived by her
17 husband, William; four step-children, Cedric, Samarion,
18 Reginald, and Theresa; her nephew, Melvin Griffin; her niece,
19 Sandra Richardson; her sister and friend, Margaret Yarbrough;
20 her goddaughter, LePhaye Gray Washington; and many friends;
21 therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 mourn, along with her family and friends, the death of Arline
25 Hooks; may they find peace and comfort in this time of need;
26 and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of Arline Hooks.
