1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives is pleased
3 to recognize significant milestones in the lives of the
4 people of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives and the
6 State of Illinois are honored to recognize the men and women
7 from Illinois who served in the United States Naval Armed
8 Guard, the WAVES, and the United States Merchant Marines; and
9 WHEREAS, The men and women who served in the Armed Guard,
10 the WAVES, and the Merchant Marines made it possible to
11 deliver the war goods, supplies, and extra troops to
12 different locations all over the world by their hard work,
13 dedication, and devotion to our country, their jobs, and
14 crews; and
15 WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives and the
16 State of Illinois salute the United States Naval Armed
17 Guard, the WAVES, and the United States Merchant Marines who
18 dedicated their lives to our country and lived by the motto,
19 "We aim to deliver": therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
22 salute the men and women who served in the United States
23 Naval Armed Guard, the WAVES, and the United States Merchant
24 Marines, and with the loyalty and sacrifices each of these
25 men and women made, they were able to protect merchant ships
26 in convoys, transport troops, prisoners, food, guns,
27 ammunition, medical supplies, and mail to our troops; and be
28 it further
29 RESOLVED, That we extend our sincere best wishes to the
30 men and women who served in the United States Naval Armed
31 Guard, the WAVES, and the United States Merchant Marines and

1 to their families; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the men and women who served in the United
4 States Naval Armed Guard, the WAVES, and the United States
5 Merchant Marines as an expression of our respect and esteem.
