1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor citizens of the State of
4 Illinois who have made lasting impressions on the people of
5 this State; and
6 WHEREAS, David A. Schmidt has served as a student of
7 government, as a teacher, and a public official, dedicating a
8 career and all of his free time to the people of Barrington
9 and the State of Illinois; and
10 WHEREAS, He began his interest in government by receiving
11 a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Michigan
12 State University; he continued as a graduate student at
13 Indiana University, where he attained a Ph.D. in Political
14 Science; and
15 WHEREAS, he taught government and political science at
16 Indiana University and continues to pass his wisdom and
17 scholarship to the students at the College of DuPage; and
18 WHEREAS, He has dedicated eight years, from 1990 to 1998,
19 serving as the Republican Committeeman of Barrington Township
20 and is currently serving as a Senior Trustee for the Village
21 of Barrington, a position he has held since April of 1993;
22 therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 thank David Schmidt for a job well done; for his hard work as
26 Republican Committeeman of Barrington Township we also say
27 thank you; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to David Schmidt.
