90_HR0734 LRB9013818EGmbA 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Terri L. Coombes started work on the House 3 Democratic Staff as a Sangamon State University legislative 4 intern on October 15, 1986; and 5 WHEREAS, Terri L. Coombes has been able to devote a 200% 6 effort to her job while juggling the roles of career and mom; 7 and 8 WHEREAS, After serving her internship, Terri was hired as 9 a legislative analyst on October 16, 1987, and was assigned 10 to the Appropriations, Executive, and Registration & 11 Regulations committees; and 12 WHEREAS, Speaker Madigan appointed Terri as Director of 13 the Research/Appropriations staff on January 27, 1993; and 14 WHEREAS, Terri was known throughout the State Capitol for 15 her diligent and conscientious work in reviewing agency 16 budgets and legislative analyses, and was respected by her 17 staff for being an effective and caring boss; and 18 WHEREAS, Terri's awesome ability to go sleepless on 19 budget nights, without losing her temper or sense of humor, 20 has earned the awe of her exhausted staff; and 21 WHEREAS, Terri always popped for pizzas on late nights - 22 or found someone who would; and 23 WHEREAS, Terri will have to reserve "Mud's" handcart in 24 order to move her many pairs of shoes and wilted plants to 25 her new office on the 2nd floor of the Capitol; and 26 WHEREAS, The Democratic members of the House, as well as 27 her dedicated staff, will truly miss her; and 28 WHEREAS, Terri L. Coombes has accepted a new and 29 responsible position as Director of Programs and Policy for -2- LRB9013818EGmbA 1 Secretary of State Jesse White; and 2 WHEREAS, No longer working legislative hours, Terri will 3 now have more time to be with her 14-year old daughter, 4 Becca, a straight-A student at Springfield High School; 5 therefore, be it 6 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 7 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 8 wish Terri L. Coombes the best of luck in her future 9 endeavors; and be it further 10 RESOLVED, That our sadness in her departure is eased by 11 our knowledge that we will continue to see her in the halls 12 of the State Capitol; and be it further 13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 14 presented to Terri L. Coombes as an expression of our esteem.
