Provides that no person is eligible to hold the office of county board member or commissioner in counties of less than 3,000,000 unless he or she is a legal voter and has been a resident of the county for at least one year next preceding the election. The Counties Code is amended by adding 5 Sections 2-3015 and 2-4010 as follows: 6 (55 ILCS 5/2-3015 new) 7 Sec. 2-3015. Qualifications of County Board Members and 8 Commissioners. In counties with a population of 3,000,000 or 9 less, no person is eligible to hold the office of county 10 board member or commissioner unless he or she is a legal 11 voter and has been a resident of the county for at least one 12 year next preceding the election. 13 (55 ILCS 5/2-4010 new) 14 Sec. 2-4010.
