1 AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code of 1961 by changing
2 Section 7-13.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by
6 changing Section 7-13 as follows:
7 (720 ILCS 5/7-13) (from Ch. 38, par. 7-13)
8 Sec. 7-13. Necessity.
9 Conduct which would otherwise be an offense is
10 justifiable by reason of necessity if the accused was without
11 blame in occasioning or developing the situation and
12 reasonably believed that such conduct was necessary to avoid
13 a public or private injury greater than the injury which
14 might reasonably result from his own conduct.
