1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 159
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 159 on page 3,
3 line 6, by replacing "Act." with the following:
4 "Act, and provided further that persons interested in
5 such real estate may assert any other objection they may have
6 in connection with the special assessment project, including
7 without limitation that the property is assessed more than it
8 is benefitted by the improvement or that there is no benefit
9 at all to their property. Where any of the properties
10 contained in a special assessment project lie outside of, but
11 contiguous to, the corporate boundaries of the sanitary
12 district, the Committee of Local Improvements may not
13 commence the project without receiving a written petition
14 requesting the project signed by at least a majority of the
15 affected landowners, their agents, or assigns.".
