765 ILCS 205/5 from Ch. 109, par. 5
Amends the Plat Act. Remove offers of sale from
provisions concerning the penalty for selling a lot before
compliance with the requirements of the Act. Provides that
these provisions do not prohibit an offer of sale or
acceptance of deposit by a seller prior to compliance,
provided that compliance must occur before conveyance of any
deed. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT to amend the Plat Act by changing Section 5.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Plat Act is amended by changing Section 5
5 as follows:
6 (765 ILCS 205/5) (from Ch. 109, par. 5)
7 Sec. 5. Whoever sells or offers for sale or leases for
8 any time exceeding five years, any lot or block in or outside
9 of any town, city or village before all the requirements of
10 this Act have been complied with, shall be guilty of a petty
11 offense and fined $25 for each lot or block or part thereof
12 so disposed of, offered for sale or leased. Nothing in this
13 Section shall prohibit an offer of sale or acceptance of
14 deposit by a seller before compliance with the requirements
15 of this Act, provided that compliance occurs before
16 conveyance of any deed to the property.

18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19 becoming law.
