      750 ILCS 5/506            from Ch. 40, par. 506
          Amends the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of  Marriage
      Act  regarding    representation  of a child in a dissolution
      action between the child's parents.  Provide that  the  court
      may  appoint  an  attorney  to  represent the best interests,
      rather than the interests,  of the child and adds the child's
      property as an item for  which  the  attorney  shall  provide
      representation  in  addition to the already existing support,
      custody, and visitation issues.

 1        AN ACT to amend the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution  of
 2    Marriage Act by changing Section 506.
 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section 5.  The  Illinois  Marriage  and  Dissolution  of
 6    Marriage Act is amended by changing Section 506 as follows:
 7        (750 ILCS 5/506) (from Ch. 40, par. 506)
 8        Sec.  506.   Representation  of  Child.   The  court  may
 9    appoint  an  attorney  to  represent  the best interests of a
10    minor  or  dependent  child  with  respect  to  his  support,
11    custody, and visitation, and property.  The  court  may  also
12    appoint  an  attorney as the guardian-ad-litem for the child.
13    The  court  shall  enter  an  order  for  costs,   fees   and
14    disbursements   in   favor   of   the  child's  attorney  and
15    guardian-ad-litem, as the case may be.  The  order  shall  be
16    made  against  either  or both parents or any adult party, or
17    against the child's separate estate.
