Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that a
municipality that receives State funds for the maintenance of
streets or roads within that municipality shall not restrict
parking on any street or road to residents only.

1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Municipal Code by changing
2 Section 11-80-2a.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
6 changing Section 11-80-2a as follows:
7 (65 ILCS 5/11-80-2a) (from Ch. 24, par. 11-80-2a)
8 Sec. 11-80-2a. Parking. A municipality that receives
9 State funds for the maintenance of streets or roads within
10 that municipality shall not restrict parking on any street or
11 road in that municipality to residents only. The corporate
12 authorities of a municipality that does not receive State
13 funds for the maintenance of streets or roads within that
14 municipality may, in areas zoned for residential use, the
15 corporate authorities may restrict part of each street for
16 "residents parking only".
