The Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of 6 Marriage Act is amended by changing Section 404 as follows: 7 (750 ILCS 5/404) (from Ch. 40, par. 404) 8 Sec. 404. Conciliation; mediation. 9 (a) If the court concludes that there is a prospect of 10 reconciliation, the court, at the request of either party, or 11 on its own motion, may order a conciliation conference. The 12 conciliation conference and counseling shall take place at 13 the established court conciliation service of that judicial 14 district or at any similar service or facility where no court 15 conciliation service has been established. 16 (b) The facts adduced at any conciliation conference 17 resulting from a referral under this Sectionhereunder,shall 18 not be considered in the adjudication of a pending or 19 subsequent action, nor shall any report resulting from such 20 conference become part of the record of the case unless the 21 parties have stipulated in writing to the contrary. 22 The court, upon good cause shown, may prohibit 23 conciliation, mediation or other process that requires the 24 parties to meet and confer without counsel. 25 (Source: P.A. 87-1255.)
