Amends the Higher Education Student Assistance Act.
Authorizes the Illinois Student Assistance Commission to
charge a reasonable fee, not exceeding $20 for any student,
for administration of its scholarship and grant search
service. Requires the fee receipts to be deposited in the
Higher EdNet Fund. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT to amend the Higher Education Student Assistance
2 Act by adding Section 73.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Higher Education Student Assistance Act
6 is amended by adding Section 73 as follows:
7 (110 ILCS 947/73 new)
8 Sec. 73. Search service fees. The Illinois Student
9 Assistance Commission may charge a reasonable fee not
10 exceeding $20 for any student for administration of its
11 scholarship and grant search service. All fees received by
12 the Commission for the performance of those services and
13 activities shall be deposited upon receipt into the Illinois
14 Student Assistance Commission Higher EdNet Fund in the State
15 Treasury.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.
