1 AN ACT to amend the University of Illinois at Springfield
2 Law by changing Section 40-15.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 1. The University of Illinois at Springfield Law
6 is amended by changing Section 40-15 as follows:
7 (110 ILCS 327/40-15)
8 Sec. 40-15. Transfer of employees and students. On the
9 effective date of this Article, the employment of all
10 academic and nonacademic personnel of Sangamon State
11 University (now known as the University of Illinois at
12 Springfield) is hereby transferred from the Board of Regents
13 to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, but
14 the locus of their employment shall not be transferred. The
15 transfer shall not affect the status and rights of any person
16 under the State Universities Retirement System or the State
17 Universities Civil Service System. On the effective date of
18 this Article, the individuals whose employment is so
19 transferred shall be credited with earned vacation days and
20 sick leave days accrued before the transfer.
21 On the effective date of this Article, individuals who
22 are students of Sangamon State University shall be students
23 of the University of Illinois at Springfield. All degrees
24 from Sangamon State University shall be degrees from the
25 University of Illinois at Springfield. Any reasonable costs
26 associated with the reissuance of diplomas shall be borne by
27 the individuals requesting the diplomas.

30 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
