Provides that aggravated intimidation includes committing the offense of intimidation against a victim who reports the commission of a criminal offense by the offender to the State's Attorney's office, law enforcement agency, or peace officer. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by 6 changing Section 12-6.2 as follows: 7 (720 ILCS 5/12-6.2) 8 Sec. 12-6.2. Aggravated intimidation. 9 (a) Any streetgang member who commits the offense of 10 intimidation in furtherance of the activities of an organized 11 gang commits the offense of aggravated intimidation. 12 (a-5) A person commits the offense of aggravated 13 intimidation who commits the offense of intimidation against 14 a victim who reports the commission of a criminal offense by 15 that person to the State's Attorney's Office, the Department 16 of State Police, county sheriff, municipal police department, 17 or any peace officer. 18 (b) Sentence. Aggravated intimidation is a Class 1 19 felony. 20 (c) For the purposes of this Section, "streetgang", 21 "streetgangsteetgangmember", and "organized gang" have the 22 meanings ascribed to them in Section 10 of the Illinois 23 Streetgang Terrorism Omnibus Prevention Act. 24 (Source: P.A. 89-631, eff. 1-1-97; revised 7-7-97.)
