Appropriates $20,000,000 to the Department of Human
Services for grants to not-for-profit organizations and
churches for the Department's Scared Straight Program and the
immediate intervention programs established under the
Juvenile Justice Reform Provisions of 1998. Effective July
1, 1998.

1 AN ACT regarding appropriations.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The amount of $20,000,000, or so much of that
5 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated to the Department
6 of Human Services for grants to not-for-profit organizations
7 and churches for the Department's Scared Straight Program and
8 the immediate intervention programs established under the
9 Juvenile Justice Reform Provisions of 1998.
10 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
11 1, 1998.
