Requires the Coordinator to assist employers in obtaining information on training and education programs offered by community colleges and in establishing training programs with community colleges. Requires the Coordinator to annually report to the Governor and the General Assembly on the number of employers assisted, the type of training contracted for by employers, and the number of jobs filled as a result of training. LRB9007065NTsb LRB9007065NTsb 1 AN ACT to amend the Public Community College Act by 2 adding Section 2-20. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended 6 by adding Section 2-20 as follows: 7 (110 ILCS 805/2-20 new) 8 Sec. 2-20. Employment and training Coordinator. 9 (a) The State Board shall appoint an Employment and 10 Training Coordinator. The Employment and Training 11 Coordinator shall assist private sector employers in 12 obtaining information on the training and education programs 13 offered by community colleges, assist employers in 14 contracting with a community college or colleges in 15 establishing a training program to meet the specific needs of 16 the employer, and provide informational assistance to 17 employers for ongoing educational programs for their 18 employment needs. 19 (b) The Employment and Training Coordinator shall 20 conduct an ongoing outreach to employers, employer 21 organizations, and employee organizations to inform these 22 entities of the programs available from community colleges 23 for employment training programs. 24 (c) Beginning January 1, 2000, the Employment and 25 Training Coordinator shall annually report to the Governor 26 and the General Assembly on the number of employers assisted, 27 the type of employment training contracted for by employers, 28 and the number of full-time and part-time jobs filled as the 29 result of training by a community college. 30 (d) The State Board may adopt rules to carry out the 31 provisions of this Section. -2- LRB9007065NTsb 1 Section 99.
