1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1544
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1544 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Mechanics Lien Act by changing
5 Section 6."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Mechanics Lien Act is amended by
9 changing Section 6 as follows:
10 (770 ILCS 60/6) (from Ch. 82, par. 6)
11 Sec. 6. In no event shall it be necessary to fix or
12 stipulate in any contract a time for the completion or a time
13 for payment in order to obtain a lien under this act,
14 provided, that the work is done or material furnished within
15 3 three years from the commencement of said work or the
16 commencement of furnishing said material.
