1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1566
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1566, with
3 reference to the page and line numbers in Senate Amendment
4 No. 2, on page 2, in line 5, by replacing "4" with "5"; and
5 on page 26, in line 9, by replacing "marketing," with
6 "marketing,"; and
7 on page 26, in lines 17 and 18, by deleting "or
8 membership fees in associations that lobby"; and
9 on page 27, by inserting the following after line 5:
10 "(1.6) The cost of marketing sites within the redevelopment
11 project area to prospective businesses, developers, and
12 investors;"; and
13 on page 27, in line 17, by inserting immediately before
14 the semi-colon: "requiring private investment"; and
15 on page 27, in line 22, by deleting "only"; and
16 on page 27, in line 28, by inserting the following
17 immediately before the semi-colon: "unless either (i) the
18 construction of the new municipal building implements a
19 redevelopment project that was initiated prior to the
20 effective date of this amendatory Act of 1998 or (ii) the
21 municipality makes a reasonable determination in the

1 redevelopment plan, supported by information that provides
2 the basis for that determination, that the new municipal
3 building is required to meet an increase in the need for
4 public safety purposes anticipated to result from the
5 implementation of the redevelopment plan"; and
6 on page 35, in lines 15 and 16, by replacing "is included
7 in an industrial park conservation area or the parcel" with
8 "is included in an industrial park conservation area or the
9 parcel"; and
10 on page 46, by replacing lines 11 and 12 with the
11 following: "The recommendation shall be adopted by a majority
12 of those members present and voting. The recommendation
13 shall be"; and
14 on page 46, in line 22, by deleting "the approval of".
