The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business 6 Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2II as follows: 7 (815 ILCS 505/2II new) 8 Sec. 2II. Sales of telecommunications services on a 9 prepaid basis. 10 (a) Sales of telecommunications calling time on a 11 prepaid basis may not include, as a condition of the sale or 12 contract for sale, that the consumer must use the prepaid 13 calling time within a specified time period. 14 (b) A person who violates the provisions of this Section 15 commits an unlawful practice within the meaning of this Act. 16 A person who violates the provisions of this Section commits 17 a business offense may be fined not less than $501 nor more 18 than $5,000 for each offense.
