Amends the Illinois Procurement Code. For construction
contracts over $30,000 and other contracts over $10,000,
requires that bids and proposals be accompanied by a
contractor's written policy against sexual harassment and
evidence that the policy is posted in the contractor's office
and the subject of a training program for new employees.

1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Procurement Code by adding
2 Section 20-37.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended by
6 adding Section 20-37 as follows:
7 (30 ILCS 500/20-37 new)
8 Sec. 20-37. Contractor policy against sexual harassment.
9 An invitation for bids or request for proposals for a
10 construction contract in excess of $30,000 or any other
11 contract in excess of $10,000 shall require that a bid or
12 proposal be accompanied by the contractor's written policy
13 against sexual harassment and proof that the policy is posted
14 in a visible location within each of the contractor's offices
15 and that the contractor has had in force for at least the
16 previous 12 months a training program against sexual
17 harassment for the contractor's new employees. No contract
18 to which this Section applies shall be awarded without the
19 contractor's compliance with this Section.
