Amends the Election Code by making a technical change to
the Section concerning the account of contributions and
expenditures kept by the treasurer of a political committee.

1 AN ACT to amend the Election Code.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing
5 Section 9-7 as follows:
6 (10 ILCS 5/9-7) (from Ch. 46, par. 9-7)
7 Sec. 9-7. Treasurer's account of contributions and
8 expenditures. The treasurer of a political committee shall
9 keep a detailed and exact account of-
10 (a) the total of all contributions made to or for the
11 committee;
12 (b) the full name and mailing address of every person
13 making a contribution in excess of $20 and the date and
14 amount thereof;
15 (c) the total of all expenditures made by or on behalf
16 of the committee;
17 (d) the full name and mailing address of every person to
18 whom any expenditure in excess of $20 is made, and the date
19 and amount thereof;
20 (e) proof of payment, stating the particulars, for every
21 expenditure in excess of $20 made by or on behalf of the
22 committee.
23 The treasurer shall preserve all records and accounts
24 required by this section for a period of 2 years.
