90_SJ0047 LRB9008450KBkb 1 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly 3 wish to send their sincere condolences to the family and 4 friends of Brian Plawer; and 5 WHEREAS, Brian Ralph Plawer began his employment with the 6 Illinois Department of Conservation in 1976 as a Ranger at 7 Hennepin Canal, and through his demonstrated skills and 8 motivation was promoted to a Site Superintendent III position 9 for Hidden Springs State Forest in 1978; he was then promoted 10 to Site Superintendent IV to Kickapoo State Park and Middle 11 Fork State Fish and Wildlife Area in 1986; and 12 WHEREAS, Brian was elected by his peers to be a 13 representative on the Field Management Committee, and was a 14 member of the Department Computer Task Force where he 15 combined his experience with the Department's complex 16 workings and his knowledge of computer technology; and 17 WHEREAS, Brian was committed and dedicated to making 18 Kickapoo State Park and Middle Fork State Fish and Wildlife 19 Area a memorable experience for all visitors; he was 20 instrumental in the establishment and management of the 21 Middle Fork Scenic River, Illinois' only designated State and 22 National Scenic River; and 23 WHEREAS, Brian was intricately involved with the 24 development of the Master Management Plan for the Harry 25 "Babe" Woodyard State Natural Area, a satellite of Kickapoo 26 State Park, and excelled in putting together its recent 27 dedication; and 28 WHEREAS, Brian's twenty-two years of public service, his 29 excellent stewardship of the land, and his volunteer work 30 with the Boy Scouts and his church touched a large number of 31 lives and made Illinois a better place to live and play; and -2- LRB9008450KBkb 1 WHEREAS, Brian's dedication to his church, his family, 2 his friends, and the field of conservation has benefitted the 3 citizens of Illinois in a monumental way; and 4 WHEREAS, Brian Plawer is survived by his wife, Wanda; 5 his daughters, Amanda Sperry and Mariah Plawer; and his son, 6 Adam Plawer; therefore, be it 7 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 8 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES 9 CONCURRING HEREIN, that we mourn, along with his family and 10 friends, the death of Brian Plawer; his devotion to every 11 part of his life will be his legacy; and be it further 12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 13 presented to the family of Brian Plawer.
